Kazakhstan's Mangistau Electricity places no bonds at Friday session

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., May 31 - JSC Mangistau Electricity Distribution Network Co. held a special trading session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange to place KZT 1.68 billion of 8% 10-year bonds. No bonds were placed at the trading session held on Friday due to higher-than-expected prices.

The 8% bonds are part of the sixth issue under the Aktau, Kazakhstan-based energy company's first bond program. The company registered to issue KZT 9.86 billion of bonds in July 2005 and was authorized earlier this month to issue KZT 1.7 billion of sixth issue bonds.

Another special trading session to offer KZT 1.68 billion of the 8% bonds is scheduled for June 12. JSC Money Experts, a subsidiary of JSC Nurbank, will act as seller.
