Majestic Star exclusive plan-filing period extended through Sept. 17

Pittsburgh, Aug. 13- The Majestic Star Casino, LLC's exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a plan of reorganization were extended Friday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Sept. 17 and the solicitation period to Nov. 17.

According to the motion, Majestic Star and its key creditor constituencies have made progress in negotiating a plan of reorganization, but the negotiations are not yet finished.

The company said many key issues would not be resolved before the previous Aug. 20 filing deadline.

Majestic Star, a Las Vegas-based owner and operator of casino hotels, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 23, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-14136.
