Annaly Capital files shelf covering common stock and preferred stock

Knoxville, Tenn., May 14 - Annaly Capital Management, Inc. filed a common stock and preferred stock shelf registration for an unspecified amount in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The preferreds may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used to purchase mortgage-backed securities.

Based in New York, Annaly Capital Management is a real estate investment trust that owns and manages a portfolio of mortgage-backed securities.
