Anixter buys back further $50.4 million convertibles, $3.6 million notes

New York, Aug. 12 - Anixter International Inc. said it has bought back $50.4 million of its zero-coupon convertible notes due June 2020 and $7.0 million of its 8% senior notes due 2003 since June 28.

The repurchases, disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, followed buybacks of $25.1 million of its convertibles during the second quarter and $15.3 million of the convertibles and $7.0 million of the 8% senior notes in the first quarter.

Anixter said it may make further buybacks, depending on market conditions.
