MacKay Shields to add emerging market debt team with five new hires

Los Angeles, Dec. 2 – MacKay Shields LLC announced it intends to establish a new emerging market debt capability with the hiring of five investment professionals to be based in London.

Philip Fielding and Valentina Chen will join MacKay as co-heads of emerging market debt on the firm’s global credit team, reporting to Eric Gold, senior portfolio manager and head of global credit, according to a press release.

Henry Stipp will also join the team as a portfolio manager and Gordana Ilic and Christopher Garcia as analysts.

These investment professionals collectively bring a combination of sovereign, local currency and emerging market corporate bond experience, working with institutional investors across European markets, the company said.

The addition of a dedicated emerging market debt capability will further extend MacKay Shields’ fixed-income capabilities.

The asset management firm is based in New York.
