Paris Club agrees to Macedonia offer to prepay up to $104 million of debt

By Jennifer Chiou

New York, Jan. 24 - The Paris Club announced that its members accepted Macedonia's offer to prepay $104 million of its debt.

The debt was previously rescheduled in 1995.

The Paris Club said that the offer reflects the strong financial recovery of Macedonia in recent years.

Voluntary prepayments will take place between Jan. 31 and April 30.

Formed in 1956, The Paris Club is an informal group of creditor governments from major industrialized countries.
