By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 5 - LyondellBasell Industries has named Craig Glidden as its executive vice president and chief legal officer, effective Aug. 15, according to a news release.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunities ahead as we rebuild LyondellBasell and continue to progress toward emergence from Chapter 11 protection," Glidden said in the release.

Glidden was most recently senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.

He received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Tulane University and a juris doctor degree with high honors from Florida State University.

He is licensed to practice in Texas and Florida and is a member and past chair of the General Counsel Forum.

LyondellBasell is a Netherlands-based polymer, petrochemicals and fuels company. LyondellBasell's U.S. operations and one of its European holding companies filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 6, 2009 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The Chapter 11 case number is 09-10023.
