Russia's Lukoil unit pays $980 million for UniCredit's exchangeables

Chicago, Sept. 29 - Lukoil OAO said its wholly owned indirect subsidiary, Lukoil Finance Ltd., acquired exchangeable notes on Sept. 28 issued by UniCredit Bank AG.

The company paid $980 million for the notes, which are exchangeable under some circumstances into 17.5 million American Depositary Receipts.

Lukoil is a Moscow-based oil and energy company. Unicredit Bank is based in Munich.
