S&P reinstates Anglo American debt at BB

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it corrected by reinstating its BB ratings on the following debt instruments issued by Anglo American plc:

• €581.4 million senior unsecured notes due 2016 (original amount €750 million);

• €537.8 million senior unsecured notes due 2018 (original amount €750 million);

• €481.6 million senior unsecured notes due 2018 (original amount €750 million); and

• £266.7 million senior unsecured notes due 2018 (original amount £400 million).

The recovery rating on these notes is unchanged at 3, with recovery prospects in the lower half of the 50%-70% range.

The agency had withdrawn the issue ratings in error on March 7.
