London Fog Group closes sale of London Fog brand to Iconix

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 29 - London Fog Group Inc. closed the sale of its London Fog brand to Iconix Brand Group, Inc., according to an Iconix news release.

Iconix said it also signed a license with leading children's outerwear maker Amerex (USA), Inc. under which it will hold the license for children's outerwear in the United States.

"We are thrilled to have closed on our purchase of the London Fog brand," Iconix chairman and chief executive officer Neil Cole said in the release.

"With two leading outerwear makers forming the foundation of our licensing program, we are confident will be able to quickly capitalize on the long and rich heritage of London Fog and build it into a lifestyle brand that appeals to a broad range of consumers."

London Fog Group, a Seattle-based apparel company, filed for bankruptcy on March 20 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-50146.
