S&P boosts Linde to BBB

Standard & Poor's said it raised to BBB/A-2 from BBB-/A-3 the long-term and short-term corporate credit ratings on Linde AG.

The outlook is stable.

The upgrade reflects the company's successful disposal activities totaling about €7.5 billion in the past six months as well as a solid 2006 operating performance, a fast integration of BOC Group plc and continuously favorable market conditions for 2007, exceeding S&P's expectations.

The agency said it expects the good business conditions for industrial gas business to continue in the coming years.
