Libbey receives 90-day extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 13 – Libbey Inc. obtained a 90-day extension of the exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on its Chapter 11 plan of reorganization, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the plan filing period was extended through Dec. 28 from Sept. 29 and the solicitation period through Feb. 26 from Nov. 28.

The debtors said in their motion that they needed the extension in order to provide sufficient time to obtain confirmation of the plan and, ultimately, consummation of the plan without distraction from competing plans of reorganization that may be filed by third parties.

Libbey is a Toledo, Ohio-based glassware manufacturer. The company filed bankruptcy on June 1 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware under Chapter 11 case number 20-11439.
