Lehman Brothers International Europe makes claim resolution offer

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 24 - Lehman Brothers International Europe is currently making an offer to some of its clients and counterparties to enter into a claim resolution agreement, according to a company news release.

Under the claim resolution offer, Lehman said eligible parties would agree to compromise claims related to trust assets and financial contracts.

While the principal focus of the agreement is to facilitate the return of trust assets to parties with ownership claims, the company said it also contains mechanisms to determine the claims of parties with purely unsecured financial claims.

The offer will expire on Dec. 29.

New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
