Goldman Sachs buys $72.63 million of claims against Lehman Brothers

Pittsburgh, Oct. 26 - Goldman Sachs & Co. bought $72.63 million in claims against Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., according to Wednesday filings with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
Specifically, Goldman bought a $60.1 million claim from Ostersjostiftelsen, an $8.97 million claim from Galostiftelsen and a $3.56 million claim from Quesada Irisfonden.
New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings was the fourth-largest investment bank in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 15, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13555.
