Lazard hires Chetan Bhandari as managing director in restructuring

By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., Jan. 10 – Lazard Ltd. added Chetan Bhandari as a managing director in the firm’s restructuring business in New York, effective immediately, according to a press release.

Bhandari was most recently senior vice president of corporate finance and treasurer at Toys ‘R’ Us Inc.

“Chetan is a seasoned professional with decades of experience in leveraged finance and corporate restructuring,” vice chairman and head of global restructuring David Kurtz said in the release.

Bhandari has more than 20 years of experience, primarily as an investment banker, Lazard said. Before joining Toys ‘R’ Us in 2014, he was a managing director at GLC Advisors, a managing director in investment banking at Goldman Sachs & Co., a managing director in the restructuring group with UBS and a vice president in the investment banking division with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Previously, he was a founding member of Merrill Lynch & Co.’s European leveraged finance business.

Lazard is a New York-based asset management and financial adviser with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, capital structure and capital raising.
