LandAmerica gets court OK to hire Mitchell as chief restructuring officer

Pittsburgh, Dec. 29 - LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. obtained court approval to hire Jonathan A. Mitchell of Zolfo Cooper Management LLC as its chief restructuring officer, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Zolfo Cooper will also assign staff members to help Mitchell and the company.

Mitchell will help the company stabilize its financial condition and develop a business plan.

LandAmerica, a title insurance underwriter based in Glen Allen, Va., filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 26. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-35994.
