Lancaster Colony investor to nominate three to company board

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Sept. 21 - Barington Cos. Equity Partners LP plans to nominate three people for election to Lancaster Colony Corp.'s board of directors at the company's annual meeting, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The meeting is schedule for Nov. 19.

Barington said it has been disappointed with the performance of the board and lacks confidence in the ability of the current directors to improve shareholder value for the company's public shareholders.

The investor's nominees are Nick White, Stuart Oran and James A. Mitarotonda. If elected, the nominees will work to speed the divestiture of the company's non-core business segments, the filing stated.

Barington beneficially owns 490,416 shares, or roughly 1.6%, of Lancaster Colony's common stock.

Lancaster Colony is a diversified manufacturer and marketer of consumer products based in Columbus, Ohio, with a focus on specialty food products for the retail and foodservice markets.
