Ramius continues to gain ownership of Lamson & Sessions stock

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 8 - Lamson & Sessions Co. investors led by Ramius Capital Group, LLC and Starboard Value and Opportunity Master Fund Ltd. bought 65,000 shares of the company's stock between July 24 and Aug. 3, priced from $22.00 to $25.45 per share.

Ramius owns 1,834,338 Lamson & Sessions shares, or 11.67% of the company's outstanding stock, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As previously reported, Lamson had been under pressure from investor Admiral Advisors, LLC, a subsidiary of Ramius Capital Group, to delay its 2007 annual meeting or add a Ramius representative to the board. Ramius had previously asked Lamson's board to consider a sale of its PVC pipe business.

Lamson is a Cleveland manufacturer of thermoplastic electrical, consumer, telecommunications and engineered sewer products.
