Fitch assigns Anadarko notes BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB- rating to Anadarko Petroleum Corp.'s issuance of $750 million of 30-year senior unsecured notes.

Fitch said it rates Anadarko with long-term issuer default rating BBB-; senior unsecured BBB-; and bank loan BBB- as well as Kerr-McGee Corp. with long-term issuer default rating BBB-; and senior unsecured BBB-.

The outlook is stable.

Anadarko is issuing $750 million of 30-year senior unsecured notes while at the same time tendering cash for up to a total of $1 billion of principal of its senior notes that are due in 2011 and 2012, the agency said.
