Fitch rates Anadarko notes BBB-

Fitch Ratings said it has assigned a BBB- rating to Anadarko Petroleum Corp.'s issuance of five-, 10- and 30-year senior unsecured notes, with a stable outlook.

The agency said it rates Anadarko Petroleum with long-term issuer default rating BBB-; senior unsecured BBB-; bank loan BBB-; short-term issuer default rating F3; and commercial paper F3; and Kerr-McGee Corp.'s long-term issuer default rating-BBB- and senior unsecured BBB-.

Anadarko has issued about $900 million in senior notes, Fitch said, adding that proceeds are to help refinance the company's remaining floating-rate notes and for general corporate purposes which may include the future retirement of other debt.
