Anacor Pharmaceuticals plans to price public sale of common stock

Bookrunner Cowen raises funds for research and development activities

Knoxville, Tenn., April 25 - Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will price a public offering of common stock, according to a prospectus supplement filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Cowen and Co. is the bookrunning manager. Canaccord Genuity and Wedbush PacGrow Life Sciences are the co-managers.

Proceeds will be used for research and development activities, including clinical trials for development programs and preclinical activities for product candidates, to increase the company's working capital and for general corporate purposes.

The pharmaceutical company is based in Palo Alto, Calif.
