Oregon voters cast ballots in favor of $238 million out of $273.9 million G.O. bond measures

Springdale, Ark., May 22 - Oregon voters approved $238 million out of $273.9 million in general obligation bond measures in Tuesday's primary elections, according to unofficial results released by each county.

The Redmond School District No. 2J's $110 million bond measure to improve safety and update schools passed with 60.01% of voters in support.

The $92 million bond measure by Chemeketa Community College for healthcare, industrial and technology facilities was approved by 54.81% of votes.

The Hood River County School District's $25.1 million bond measure for new construction passed with 60% of votes.

The city of Coos Bay's $6.9 million bond request for a new fire station and equipment passed with 56.27% of votes.

The city of Klamath Falls' $4 million bond measure for a new police station was approved with 50.33% of votes, but the Klamath Community College's $12.4 million bond measure for new campus facilities failed with 52.27% of voters against the project.

More than 57% of voters rejected the request from Lake Oswego for a $20 million bond sale to refinance property.

About 52% of voters also said no to a $3.5 million bond measure from the city of Scappoose for a rail crossing.
