Moody’s rates Kazakhstan notes Baa3

Moody’s Investors Service said it assigned a rating of Baa3 to the proposed senior euro-denominated notes to be issued by the government of Kazakhstan under its multicurrency $10 billion medium-term note program.

The notes will rank equally with all of Kazakhstan’s government’s current and future senior unsecured external debt. Kazakhstan is rated Baa3.

Proceeds are intended for general budgetary purposes.

The outlook is positive.
