Gamco ups stake in Amicas to 6.63%

Charlotte, N.C., March 3 - A group of Amicas, Inc. investors led by Gamco Asset Management Inc. increased their ownership interest to 6.63% from 6.50% with the purchase of 45,500 shares between Feb. 2 and Feb. 9.

The shares were priced from $1.62 to $1.72 each, according to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Between Dec. 18 and Jan. 20, Gamco bought 361,600 shares of Amicas at prices from $1.60 to $1.82 each, a prior SEC filing said.

Gamco beneficially owns 2,346,280 shares of the company's outstanding stock.

Based in Boston, Amicas provides radiology services and medical image and information management solutions in the United States.
