Amgen files debt, stock shelf

Washington, March 8 - Amgen, Inc. filed for a debt and stock shelf for an unspecified dollar amount in an S3-ASR registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The shelf contains $569 million of previously registered but unsold securities.
The shelf includes common and preferred stock, debt securities and warrants. Securities may be issued in the form of convertibles.
The Thousand Oaks, Calif.-based biotechnology company said proceeds would be used for general corporate purposes.
