Amgen intends to sell fixed- and floating-rate notes in five parts

Knoxville, Tenn., May 8 – Amgen Inc. is preparing to sell a five-part offering of senior notes with fixed- and floating-rate tranches, according to a 424B3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The floating-rate notes are due in 2019 and 2020.

The fixed-rate notes are due 2019, 2020 and 2022.

The floaters are non-callable. The 2019 and 2020 fixed-rate notes will have make-whole calls, and the 2022 fixed-rate notes feature a make-whole call until a month prior to maturity and then a par call.

BofA Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs & Co., Barclays and Mizuho Securities USA Inc. are the joint bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
