S&P rates Amgen notes A+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its A+ issue-level rating to each of Amgen Inc.'s proposed four maturities of senior notes being issued from a WKSI shelf registration.

At the same time, all other ratings were affirmed, the agency said.

The outlook is stable.

"The high investment-grade ratings on Amgen Inc. reflect the company's strong business risk profile, encompassing both the benefits of a portfolio of highly profitable products and the challenges of generating growth from a stable of older products," said S&P credit analyst David Lugg in a news release.
