S&P assigns BBB+ to J.B. Hunt Transport notes

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its BBB+ issue rating to J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc.'s senior unsecured notes.

S&P said its ratings on J.B. Hunt reflect the company's market position as one of the largest domestic road and rail intermodal service providers (based on fleet size), as well as the sustained improvements in rail service and the relative fuel efficiency of intermodal transport, which have both benefited J.B. Hunt.

"We characterize J.B. Hunt's business profile as 'fair,' its financial risk profile as 'minimal' and its liquidity as 'strong,'" S&P said in a news release.
