Ivanhoe Energy extends expiration of warrants from April 2005 PIPE

Des Moines, March 29 - Ivanhoe Energy Inc. agreed to extend the expiration of 4.1 million warrants that were issued in a private placement on April 15, 2005.

The expiration date was pushed back to April 15, 2008 from April 15, 2007. Expiry will be accelerated to 30 days if the closing price of the company's shares exceeds the exercise price of the warrants for five consecutive trading days.

The exercise price of the warrants is C$3.50.

Ivanhoe is an oil and gas company based in Vancouver, B.C.
