Lexington, Ky., Nov. 13 – Brazil's Itau Unibanco Holding SA issued R$700 million of perpetual subordinated financial bills in negotiations with professional investors in November, according to a 6-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The bills may be repurchased beginning in 2028, subject to the prior approval of the Central Bank of Brazil.
The purpose of the issue was to optimize the company’s capital structure given its asset growth, according to the company announcement.
Itau Unibanco is a lender based in Sao Paulo.
