Fitch affirms Ireland

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Ireland's long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating at A+ with a stable outlook.

Fitch said the sovereign ratings are supported by strong institutions and a wealthy, flexible economy with income per capita among the highest in the A category. These factors are balanced by still elevated levels of public and private debt, and external vulnerabilities, the agency noted.
