Interstate Power and Light plans to conduct sale of senior debentures

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 12 – Interstate Power and Light Co. is selling senior debentures, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Barclays, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. are the bookrunners. BNY Mellon Capital Markets LLC, Mischler Financial Group, Inc. and US Bancorp Investments Inc. are the co-managers.

The debentures will have a make-whole call followed by a par call.

Proceeds will be used to reduce capital under the company’s receivables purchase and sale program, reduce commercial paper classified as long-term debt and for general corporate purposes.

The electric and natural gas subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corp. is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
