Harbert Distressed Investment buys $1.7 million claim against Interstate Bakeries

Pittsburgh, Dec. 9 - Harbert Distressed Investment Master Fund Ltd. bought Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc.'s $1.7 million partial unsecured claim against Interstate Bakeries Corp., according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Deutsche Bank originally bought the partial claim from Pliant Corp.

The full amount of the claim was not disclosed.

The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
