Interstate Bakeries posts $11.96 million operating loss for four weeks ended Sept. 17

Washington, Nov. 1 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported an $11.96 million operating loss for the four weeks ended Sept. 17 on revenues of $239.31 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

For the four weeks ended Aug. 20, the company posted a $6.76 million operating loss on revenues of $239.48 million.

The net loss for the September period was $7.96 million against an August-period loss of $5.19 million.

Cash at Sept. 17 was $151.57 million versus cash at Aug. 20 of $161.42 million.

The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
