Interstate Bakeries posts $12.28 million operating loss in four weeks ended June 28

Pittsburgh, Aug. 13 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported a $12.28 million operating loss for the four weeks ended June 28 on $222.18 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures showed a decline from a $2.07 million operating income reported for the four weeks ended May 31 on $222.83 million in revenues.

The net loss for the latest period was $12.26 million, down from a $4.75 million net income posted for the previous period.

At June 28, Interstate had $20.1 million in cash, compared with $25.07 million at May 31.

The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
