Interstate Bakeries operating loss improves to $13.27 million in four weeks ended May 3

Pittsburgh, June 18 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported a $13.27 million operating loss for the four weeks ended May 3 on $224.11 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures showed improvement from a $15.53 million operating loss posted for the four weeks ended April 5 on $210.18 million in revenues.

The net loss for the latest period was $9.41 million, narrowing from a $15.4 million net loss for the previous period.

At May 3, Interstate had $20.4 million in cash, compared with $21.98 million at April 5.

The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
