Interstate Bakeries records $11.31 million operating loss for month ended March 8

Pittsburgh, April 22 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported an $11.31 million operating loss for the four weeks ended March 8 on $211.57 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The figures showed improvement over a $16.83 million operating loss for the four weeks ended Feb. 9 on $209.73 million in revenues.
The net loss for the latest period was $12.28 million, narrowing from a $16.49 million net loss for the previous period.
At March 8, Interstate had $22.95 million in cash, compared with $32.24 million at Feb. 9.
The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
