Interstate Bakeries posts $1.08 million operating income for period ended June 30

Portland, Ore., Aug. 15 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported a $1.08 million operating income for the four weeks ended June 30 on $237.07 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures are an improvement from a $7.1 million operating loss for the four weeks ended June 2 on $235.42 million in revenues.

The net loss for the period ended June 30 was $1.05 million, compared with $5.97 million in the prior period.

At June 30, cash was $63.63 million, compared with $67.21 million at June 2.

The Kansas City, Mo., bakery operator filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
