Intermet shows operating loss of $9.41 million for July

Washington, Aug. 23 - Intermet Corp.'s operating loss came to $9.41 million in July compared to an operating loss of $3.34 million in June, according to monthly operating results filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
July sales dipped to $31.53 million from $51.37 million a month earlier.
The Troy, Mich.-based auto parts maker also reported a net loss for July of $16.34 million versus a $6.96 million loss for June.
Cash and cash equivalents at the end of July stood at $934,000 against $1.97 million at June's close.
Intermet filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 29, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-67597.
