Intermet shows $3.34 million operating loss for June

Washington, July 20 - Intermet Corp.'s operating loss rose to $3.34 million in June from an operating loss of $2.06 million in May, according to monthly operating results filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

June sales dipped to $51.37 million from $51.83 million a month earlier.

The Troy, Mich.-based auto parts maker also reported a net loss for June of $6.96 million versus a $5.80 million loss for May.

Cash and cash equivalents at the end of June stood at $1.97 million against $1.84 million at May's close.

Intermet filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 29, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-67597.
