Interfaith Medical Center selects liquidation trustee pursuant to plan

New York, June 16 – Interfaith Medical Center, Inc. appointed Charles M. Berk to act as liquidating trustee as of the effective date of the company’s confirmed second amended plan of reorganization, according to a June 13 notice with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Berk is a managing director and corporate recovery services co-practice leader for the New York office of CBIZ, Inc. which is the financial adviser for the company.

As previously reported, the plan calls for the formation of a liquidating trust, which will receive, liquidate and distribute the proceeds from some assets to specified creditors.

Interfaith, a Brooklyn, N.Y., multi-site health-care system operator, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 2, 2012. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-48226.
