Interfaith Medical Center gets 90-day extension of plan-filing period

By Jim Witters

Wilmington, Del., March 25 - Interfaith Medical Center, Inc. received approval for a 90-day extension of its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a March 22 filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.

The company's exclusive period for filing a plan is extended to July 1 from April 1. The exclusive period for soliciting plan votes is extended to Aug. 30 from May 31.

When making its request, Interfaith Medical cited the size and complexity of its cases, including more than 1,000 creditors, operations in a highly regulated industry, about $130 million in outstanding secured debt and roughly $300 million of total obligations.

Interfaith, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based multi-site health care system operator, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 2. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-48226.
