S&P affirms Interconexion Electrica

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its BBB local currency and BB foreign currency long-term corporate credit ratings on Interconexion Electrica SA ESP (ISA).

The outlook is stable.

The agency said the ratings on ISA reflect its dominant position in Colombia's National Transmission System, the company's strategic importance for the Republic of Colombia, the company's natural monopoly, the government's ownership and the expectations of stable financial performance during the next years.

These strengths are mitigated by the risks of operating in the economic and political environment of Colombia and the risk of foreign exchange, along with the increased exposure to more volatile economies, S&P noted.
