Moody’s changes ICE, Reventazon views

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) and Reventazon Finance Trust’s B1 ratings and changed their outlooks to stable.

The agency said the action follows the downgrade of Costa Rica's ratings to B2 change of outlook to stable.

“The affirmation of ICE's B1 ratings, one-notch above the Government of Costa Rica's rating of B2, considers ICE's stronger credit profile than the sovereign derived by its dominant position as the largest vertically integrated utility in the country and relatively strong financial metrics,” the agency said in a news release.

“The rating also reflects its autonomous operation regulated by an independent regulator.”
