S&P: American Medical Systems unchanged

Standard & Poor's said American Medical Systems Inc.'s ratings are not affected by news that it will be acquired by Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc.

Endo announced that it will acquire American Medical for about $2.9 billion, including the assumption and repayment of $312 million of debt.

At the close of the transaction, S&P said it will withdraw the BBB rating on American Medial's revolving credit facility and the BB- rating on the senior convertible subordinated notes issued by its parent, American Medical Systems Holdings Inc.
