Moody’s acts on Dutch banks

Moody’s Investors Service said it took actions on ABN Amro Bank NV, NIBC Bank NV and ING Bank NV based on its updated criteria for evaluating banks published Friday.

Moody's upgraded ABN AMRO Bank's junior senior unsecured and junior senior unsecured medium-term note program ratings to Baa1 from Baa2 and to (P)Baa1 from (P)Baa2, respectively. The ratings are now in line with the bank’s baseline credit assessment.

The agency raised NIBC Bank’s the junior senior unsecured ratings and subordinated ratings to Baa3 from Ba1. Moody's also upgraded the bank's junior senior unsecured and subordinated MTN programs to (P)Baa3 from (P)Ba1.

Moody's, however, downgraded the long-term senior unsecured rating of ING Bank to A1 from Aa3 and lowered the senior unsecured medium-term note program rating to (P)A1 from (P)Aa3.
