infoGroup continues to evaluate options amid reports of possible sale

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 2 - infoGroup Inc. chairman Roger Siboni said no decision has been made to sell the company despite an article in the Saturday edition of the Omaha World-Herald concerning the prospect that the company is for sale.

While chief executive officer Bill Fairfield would not comment specifically on the article, he did say that "we are continually evaluating the operations and prospects for the company to determine what course is best for our shareholders," according to a company news release.

In December 2008, infoGroup retained an independent financial adviser, Evercore Partners, to assist the company in determining a possible next step, the release said.

"We have several options before us, which include continuing to operate the company as an independent organization," Siboni said.

As previously reported, company founder Vinod Gupta suggested in December 2008 that the company consider strategic alternatives, including a sale.

infoGroup, based in Omaha, provides business and consumer databases for sales leads and mailing lists, database marketing services, data processing services, e-mail marketing, market research and sales and marketing solutions.
