IndyMac hearing on appointment of permanent trustee continued to Dec. 4

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., Nov. 20 - IndyMac Bancorp Inc.'s hearing on the appointment of a permanent trustee was continued to Dec. 4 by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, according to a source familiar with the case.

As previously reported, the company filed a motion to appoint interim Chapter 7 trustee Alfred H. Seigel as the permanent trustee.

However, IndyMac property/institutional trustee Wilmington Trust Co. asked the court to appoint Jeffrey H. Beck as the permanent Chapter 7 trustee for the company's bankruptcy case.

Wilmington Trust said it was the only creditor to vote in the trustee election, and Beck was elected as Chapter 7 trustee.

Siegel's counsel disputed Beck's election.

The hearing was previously scheduled for Nov. 20.

IndyMac filed for bankruptcy on July 31. Its Chapter 7 case number is 08-21752.
