Indonesia plans to offer bonds to fund tender offer

Chicago, Sept. 13 – Republic of Indonesia announced its intention to offer new bonds to finance a tender, which has been announced as capped at $1.25 billion, according to a press release.

Fitch Ratings reported that the notes (//BBB) are expected to be issued in dollars and euros.

Proceeds will be used for the tender offer and also for general budgetary purposes, “including to partially fund Indonesia’s Covid-19 relief efforts,” according to the agency.

An announcement regarding the new notes is expected by Sept. 20.
