By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 26 - Independencia SA's Brazilian insolvency proceedings will be recognized by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York through a Chapter 15 bankruptcy case, according to a Thursday court filing.

The order also grants an injunction protecting the company from any enforcement or other creditor actions within the United States.

Independencia, a Cajamar, Brazil-based exporter of fresh and frozen beef and producer of leather, made its Chapter 15 filing on Feb. 27. The case number is 09-10903.
